Fonte Ciane
The Nature Reserve Orientata Ciane - Saline is located near the hotel. It is a mythical place of extraordinary beauty and charm, where the source of the Ciane river is located, which flows out forming ampoules of very clear water which glide down to the sea amidst papyruses and reeds in an extraordinarily charming landscape. Legend has it that the nymph Ciane was transformed into a spring by Pluto for having tried to prevent the kidnapping of Persphone.
Neapolis Archeological Park
The Park is home to the most important Greek and Roman monuments of the city, including the impressive Greek Theater from the 5th century BC, which with its 139 meter diameter was the biggest of Sicily and amongst the largest of the ancient world and the Quarries, the ancient stone quarries where the Greeks took 4,700,000 cubic meters of stone to build temples and buildings. The most curious is the so-called Ear of Dionysius, the artificial cave 23 meters tall and 5 to 11 meters wide which vaguely resembles an ear and has an unusual echo effect.

Syracuse
The center of eastern Sicily, ancient Sirako, was founded in the 8th century BC by Greek colonists who took advantage of the enviable geography of the area to found a town which quickly became one of the most important and beautiful colonies of Magna Graecia. Even now the quarters have the ancient names of Dionysius' Pentapolis: Neapolis, Akradina, Tike, Epipoli and Ortigia. They contain remains of Greek civilization and subsequent rulers, from the Romans to Normans and Spaniards, in a marvelous urban fabric that makes Syracuse one of the most beautiful cities in Sicily.
Ortigia
This is the oldest part of the city, an island connected to the mainland by bridges with winding alleys which open onto small squares flanked with Renaissance and Baroque buildings and churches. At the end of Ponte Umbertino, lies the peak of Tempio di Apollo then Piazza Archimede with its pretty fifteenth century buildings and then Piazza del Duomo, built on the remains of the Greek temple to Athena which looks out with its splendid Baroque appearance.
The Fonte Aretusa is a mythical freshwater fountain, according to legend it was the setting for the myth of the nymph Arethusa and Alpheus, which flows in a charming pond decorated with palms and papyruses. Castello Maniace, commissioned by Frederick II of Swabia, is a splendid example of medieval architecture located at the tip of the island.
